Reader's View: A little discomfort OK to help slow virus

Reader's View.jpg

In response to the July 11 letter, “Mask rule another reason to flee Duluth,” more selfishness isn’t needed in Duluth. You want to leave because the city enacted a mask ordinance to keep its people safe? Seriously? Go right ahead. Move. Hopefully far away.

I want the people I see daily to care about spreading a deadly disease, not only to me but everyone in the city. More than 143,000 people have died in the U.S. alone. This is a serious virus, and we don’t have leaders in this country that are even testing properly.

We are mostly on our own and don’t need people who are too selfish to give a little for the community.

I’m not a fan of masks, either, but I’m willing to be a little uncomfortable to help stop spreading a serious virus.
