There’s no way to stop the inconsistent and sometimes downright rude intrusions of snow and ice upon the Northland. But, thankfully, we have some local superheroes who work tirelessly to make life easier for us all. The men and women who maintain our local roads and streets work long, unpredictable hours in the worst weather conditions Mother Nature can throw at us. And to think, the majority of their work takes place while the majority of us are tucked warmly in bed.

Sadly, the efforts to create safe roadways are often thankless and incur far more criticism and frustration from people than truly deserved. Remember, we all benefit in one way or another from snow plowing throughout the area — so let’s all be a little more patient and thankful for these efforts. After all, the next wintry mix is likely right around the corner.
