On Friday, March 15, a large group of local high school students gathered in downtown Duluth to share a passionate and articulate message with the public and our decision-makers to finally and strongly address the problem of global climate change.

It was simultaneously heartening and heartbreaking to listen to these young people as they made their cases. After all, they are the ones, as they well know, who will inherit the worst effects of a warming earth.

Appreciation was owed the organizers, speakers, and participants in this student-led event. They stepped up and were willing to do the hard work of influencing their futures - and the lives of future generations. They served as an example to us all.
