I'm writing this on the Fourth of July, a day many of us pause to give thanks for the freedoms we have left.

We recently lost the freedom to choose a restaurant. And we recently lost civility of the mouth, that someone's opinion has to be laced with the vilest language. Is your freedom to express an opinion any better because of your choice of swear words?

Think of the freedoms you have. If you don't think you can lose them, you are in dreamland. There are many people who want to take away your freedoms and let the government do everything, like in Venezuela.
