Reader's View: Don't blame antidepressants
I am writing in response to the March 5 letter, "It is not the guns, it is antidepressants." Why is it that antidepressants are the blame when the debate is about the military-style guns that someone brought into a high school in Florida, killing 17 people? If the letter writer had been honest, blame would have gone to people who kill.
The 2nd Amendment to the United States Constitution may guarantee the right to bear arms. However, unless your life is in danger, you do not have the right to kill another person.
As far as asking Jesus to help, as the letter suggested, someone used Jesus Christ as an excuse to kill a Hibbing Daily Tribune carrier last summer.
What we need to do is close the loopholes at gun shows and make sure no one with a felony on their record or a restraining order against them as a result of domestic violence can get a gun.
