It is with the greatest sense of appreciation and respect that we write this letter today. At the close of the polls on Nov. 2, the people of the 8th Congressional District elected a new U.S. congressman to represent them. Regardless of how anyone feels about that outcome, we feel compelled to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation to one of the very finest U.S. representatives to have ever served this district, Congressman Jim Oberstar. He and his talented and dedicated team of professional staff worked tirelessly on our behalf regarding many of the issues we faced in locating and growing our young business in Duluth.
While some may question specific votes that were cast over his remarkable tenure in Congress, it was the work accomplished "off of the floor" that made Oberstar such a powerful and significant contributor to our district. Our many discussions regarding federal mandates and issues often led to after-hours work on the part of both Oberstar and his team. They just never tired of helping to do the right thing at the right time to help support our efforts and workload.
To simply say, "Thanks, Jim," falls woefully short of what and how we truly feel about the dedication and effort extended on behalf of our business and those many technical issues that he was willing to champion to improve lives all over the 8th District.
Regardless of how anyone voted Nov. 2, we all owe Jim a huge thank you for a job very well done.
Thank you, Jim, and your entire staff for a job very well done!
