Our electric bill for August from Minnesota Power showed an average daily cost of $3.34.

Our average daily use of electricity involved nearly all of the following: total home lighting, water heater, coffee maker, water pump, toaster, microwave, stovetop, broiler and oven, dishwasher, clothes washer, clothes dryer, refrigerator and freezer, second freezer, geothermal heating system, two televisions, two radios, stereo with compact disc player, sewing machine, power tools, computer, telephone, cell phone chargers and, let's not forget, two toothbrushes.

A rate hike after all these years. Let's see; 7.5 percent of $3.34 is

25 cents a day. We think we can handle it; it's the best deal in town!

Thanks are owed to Minnesota Power! May it keep up the good work!
