Timothy David Hovis

Timothy David Hovis, 63, formerly of Cloquet, died as a result of injuries sustained in an auto/pedestrian accident on August 24, 2020 in Brownsville, TX. He was born March 13, 1957 in Cloquet, the son of Gerald and Mary Hovis. Tim was a 1975 graduate of Cloquet High School. He graduated with honors from the U of M – Twin Cities with a degree in mineral engineering.

Tim enjoyed sports, fishing, hunting and in his younger years, playing baseball. He was an accomplished violinist and his love of travel took him all over the world.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Regina and Adolph Maslowski and William and Cecelia Hovis and his twin sisters, Karen and Sharon.

Tim is survived by his daughter, Rachel (Jason) Doster of Brentwood, TN; three grandchildren; parents, Gerald and Mary Hovis of Cloquet; four brothers, Chester (Chi) Lake of Viet Nam, Howard Hovis of Carlton, William Hovis of Washington state and Dexter (Lisa) Hovis of Cloquet and many extended family.
