Thomas A. Privette, 86, of Richfield and Duluth MN, passed away on December 26, 2021 after a 10 year battle with multiple myeloma.

Tom was born July 4, 1935 and lived most of his life in Duluth, MN, specifically the West End. He was a 1953 graduate of St Jean the Baptiste High School and then served in the United States Army. Tom spent most of his professional career at the Duluth Port managing cargo.

A man with many interests he loved to discuss theology, politics and of course sports. Tom was an avid/frustrated Minnesota sports fan. Besides online shopping one of is favorite hobbies was to collect hats. Everywhere he went people commented on his hat, as he never left the house without one.

Tom’s greatest treasure and joy was his family. He married his best friend and one true love Marilyn Kishel May 25, 1957. Their 65 year adventure created an incredible legacy of love through their ten children. Tom is survived by Marilyn and their DP’s: Dawn (Terry), Deani (Tim), Dan (Penny), Darren (Elizabeth), D’Anne, Drew (Molly), Derek (Julie), Darla (Mike), Donelle (Damien), Dana (Jill). Twenty-one grandchildren, two great-granddaughters, with two on the way; sister Marilyn Privette and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Tom was preceded in death by his parents Vivin and Celina (Gagnon), his in-laws Dutch and Lillian Kishel, brothers Jerry and Tim and sons-in-law Rick Vanderbeck and Wayne Briggs.

Our family would like to especially thank Eric Weinshel, MD and staff at Minnesota Oncology – Edina for their incredible care over the last ten years

A celebration of life Mass will be held at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior, Friday January 7th 2021 at St Joan of Arc Parish, 4527 3rd Ave So, Minneapolis, MN 55419.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St Joan of Arc Care Fund at the above address.
