Theodore Clarence Bassa Jr., “Ted”, 72 of Duluth died Sunday October 20, 2019 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Duluth. He was born on November 10, 1946 in Cloquet to Theodore and Irene Bassa. He was raised in Brookston and graduated from Albrook High School in 1964. He married Irene Fosness in Twig on December 21, 1964.

Ted worked for the DM&IR Railroad for 32 years as an equipment operator. Ted loved classic cars and car shows and spending time with his family.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Irene; sister, Carolyn Bassa of Saginaw; daughter, Lori (Gary) Olson of Culver; son, Tim Bassa of Cotton; grandsons, Cory (Stephanie) Olson of Culver, Kyle (Alyssa) Olson of Duluth and Justin Bassa of Cotton; great granddaughter, Madisyn; as well as numerous family members, friends, railroad and car buddies.

Anyone that knew Ted, was sure to have heard about his beloved grandsons.

Visitation: 10 until the 11:00 a.m. memorial service Friday, October 25, 2019 in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. A time of lunch and fellowship will follow in the fireside room of the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Culver Cemetery.
