Sandra Evelyn Hansen

Sandra Evelyn Hansen, 83 of Duluth, died Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2019 with her family by her side and joining her best friend and husband, Keith Hansen, died Oct. 5. 2019. Sandra was born May 13, 1936 in Duluth to Joseph and Ann Handlovsky. She graduated from Duluth Central in 1954 and was a member of the National Honor Society. She went on to attend St. Luke’s School of Nursing. Sandy enjoyed cooking, and baking. Her hobbies were knitting, crocheting and counted cross stitch. She loved being in the woods with Keith when grouse hunting on the Gunflint Trail and traveling to Grand Marais. Sandy was a member of Lakeside Presbyterian Church and formerly the Rhoda Martha Circle. She worked for many years at the Human Development Center, worked for an oncologist and retired from St. Louis County Fraud Prevention Investigation Unit.

She was preceded in death by: parents Joseph and Ann, son Shawn Mullen and her husband and best friend, Keith.

Sandy is survived by her children, Lorretta “Lori” Mullen, Charles Mullen and Robert (Brenda) Mullen; stepsons, Robert (Diane) Hansen, Mark (Wendy) Hansen and Brian (Tracy) Hansen; 12 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Benedictine Health Center for the compassionate care they provided both, Sandy and Keith.

Services for Sandra and Keith Hansen will begin with a Visitation starting at 10am with services at 11am Thursday, Oct. 24th at the Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E 2nd St. Duluth, (218) 727-3555.
