Richard E. Johnson
Richard E. Johnson, 90, of Hill City, died on Tuesday, June 10, 2003, at the Chappy Golden Shores Home in Hill City. He was born on September 2, 1912, in Trout Lake Township, he was the son of J. Emil and Amelia (Kukkola) Johnson. He had lived in the Balsam, Trout Lake and Warba area. He married Bernice Hansen on January 14, 1938, in Duluth. He was employed by the Cleveland Cliffs Mining Company for many years, and was also a self-employed logger. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Bernice Hansen in 1979 and his second wife Dorothy Rodgers in 1995, two sons, Donald in 1998 and Kenneth in 2001 and seven brothers and three sisters. Richard is survived by a sister, Alice Nelson of Jacobson, five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. VISITATION:10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Friday, June 13, 2003, in the Peterson Funeral Chapel, Coleraine. Interment will be in the Balsam Cemetery.
