Sandy Leah Gaylord

Sandy Leah Gaylord, of Hibbing, was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She passed away on August 29, 2022, with her family by her side. She was an only child, born to Clarence and Helvi Klein (Ylatupa) on November 19, 1942. After graduating from Hibbing High School, Sandy married, Robert Gaylord. They were married until Robert passed away after a short battle with cancer in 1999. Sandy is survived by her sons Jerry Gaylord and Jim Gaylord (Rachel) of Duluth as well as her granddaughter, Brighton.

Sandy was a stay-at-home mother while her children were young, and then went on to become a home health care worker. She enjoyed spending time with the people she served and taking care of them. Sandy loved camping, fishing, and being outdoors with her family. She travelled extensively with her family, visiting every state in the United States by the time her children graduated high school. She was fiercely independent, living in the home her father and husband built, until shortly before her passing.

A private service with family and friends may be held at a future date. In lieu of gifts, Sandy would have wanted donations made to the Range Animal Shelter.
