Marian Stenersen

11/1/1935 to 1/1/2022

Marian passed away peacefully at home on New Years Day with family at her bedside. She was preceded in death by her parents Ingolf and Mildred Johnson, brother Donald Johnson, daughter Elizabeth Ann “Lisa” Maki (Tom) and brother in law Gerry Nervick (Sandra). She is survived by her children Sheila Eurich (Jeff), Michael Johnston (Rita), Patrick Johnston (Sharon), Ray Johnston and Gary Johnston, as well as her sisters Sandra Nervick and Carol Shire (Leonard). Marian’s life long best friend Joni Stewart, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews friends and acquaintances mourn her passing too.

Marian was born in Duluth MN where she resided until 2004. She then moved to Elk River MN where she spent the remainder of her life.

Marian was a hardworking and compassionate soul. She worked as a nursing assistant for 38 years in a variety of nursing facilities and private duty homes. She was well known for her infectious laugh, wisdom and generosity. Few who met her could ever forget her. She touched the lives of so many. She leaves behind a tremendous void but also a lifetime of fond memories and a legacy of love.

A celebration of Marian’s life will be held this summer.
