Jule Jappe

Jule Ann Jappe left this earth on June 5, 2022.

She was born in Duluth on September 1, 1951, to parents Julian Jappe and Alice Scott Jappe. She died in New York after a brief hospitalization with Nathan by her side.

Jule graduated from Duluth Cathedral High School and attended UMD where she developed her love of the arts, especially pottery making. Jule was active with the Duluth Art Institute. Later her needlework became well known. In Duluth, she worked in communications and marketing.

In the 1990’s she did locations work for the movie Iron Will where she met the love of her life, locations manager Nathan Gendzier. They eventually made Brooklyn, NY their home base. Both together and separately, they traveled the country working on many movies. Jule loved her Brooklyn home and especially her garden.

Jule is preceeded in death by her parents and her sister Maureen Litman.

She is survived by Nathan, her sister Kathy Wiemann (John Saice), her niece Melanie Litman-Morris, grandniece Maia and grandnephew Ronen, niece Theresa Derke (Kent Parke) and nephew Jim Saice (Luvena), 12 more grand nieces and nephews and four great grandnieces and nephews, her Aunt Patricia Scott and three generations of cousins.

A wake for Jule’s friends and family will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Wednesday June, 22nd at Clearwater Event Center 5135 North shore Drive Duluth, MN.
