Janice R. Knight

Janice Rae Knight, 91, of Duluth went home to be with her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ on December 15th 2021. It is with deep sadness and profound gratefulness that we announce her homegoing.

Janice was born July 13th 1930, with her twin sister Joanne (Bradley), to Roy and Ethel (Kitto) Carlson. She lived her childhood and much of her adult life in Proctor Minnesota.

Janice graduated from Proctor High School in 1948 and then from UMD in 1952 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. November 17 1951 she married her love and husband of 65 years, Charles W. Knight. They raised four sons, Gary William, James Kevin, Paul Frazier and Daniel Roy.

For much of her adult life she was a homemaker and later a kindergarten and first grade teacher in Duluth Schools. She and her husband lived for many years on Pike Lake in Duluth and spent many winters in Florida.

Janice was actively engaged in her relationship with Jesus Christ. She led Bible Studies, taught Sunday School, was a part of a group of precious friends who gathered regularly for prayer. She frequently prayed for her family and friends. She often expressed gratefulness for those who knew Christ and prayerfulness for those who did not know Him, yet. Janice was an avid reader.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles, her parents, her brother Don Carlson, and Sisters Joanne Bradley, Margie Hall.

She is survived by her four sons: Gary (Wendy), James (Patty), Paul (Bonnie), Daniel (Marnie); Grandchildren: Kris (Kim), Todd (Heather), Matt (Abby), Andy (Shawna), Adam (Jenna), Timothy, Daniel (Kala), Katie (Luke), Jonny, Jordan (Liz), Kristen, Johanna, Ebony, Marcus and Dezyre and many great grandchildren.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Janice on May 28th, 2021.
