Anita May Marlow

Anita May Marlow, 59, died Jan. 29, 2022, at Solvay Hospice in Duluth, following a lengthy battle with breast cancer.

She was born Sep. 7, 1962, in Duluth to Doris and Elbert Marlow, the youngest of five children.

She grew up in the Proctor area and graduated from Proctor High School.

In her early 20s she moved to Denver, Colorado where she worked in childcare and in retail.

In 2015 she moved back to Duluth to be closer to family, and worked at Superior Choice Credit Union where she helped open the Denfield branch.

She enjoyed reading, puzzles, cross stitch, Diamond Art, science fiction and Celtic music.

Friends and family said she had a great sense of humor and a great smile.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents; a nephew Luke; his wife Amanda; and her beloved cat Angel.

Survivors include her brother Barry (Barb) Marlow; sisters Rhonda Saarela, Karen Kilby and Jane Hoskins; many nieces and nephews; long-time friends; and cats Turnip and Cheetah.

Interment will be at Union Cemetery in Hermantown where her ashes will be buried with her parents.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Arrangements were with Cremation Society of Minnesota.
