Robert “Bob” Lauer, age 88 of Superior, WI and a longtime resident of Duluth, MN passed away peacefully Jan 4, 2021 at home with his family by his side.
He was born Dec. 6, 1932 in Pine City, MN to Frank Carl and Francis (Basta) Lauer. He proudly served with the US Army Airforce from 1951 -1954 in the 457th Airborne Division with the rank of Sergeant. On March 11, 1955 he married Anne Marie Scott in Pine River, MN.
He obtained his Bachelors and Master’s Degree in Education. He taught Accounting and Business at Duluth East High School for 30 years and was also their ski coach. He was a 32nd degree Mason. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He dearly loved his time with his family at the lake, and treasured his boundary waters canoe adventures with his friends.
He is survived by: wife Anne, three children, Daniel (Grace) Lauer, Robin (Mark) Ogren, and Michele (Dan) Vesel, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, his brother Lyle, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two children: David Scott Lauer and James Franklin Lauer.
He will be sadly missed by all his friends and family.
A Military celebration of life will be held this summer at Park Hill Cemetery.
