Daniel William Tanberg, 73 of Duluth passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 in St. Luke’s Hospital. He was born in Minneapolis to William and Margaret (Weiss) Tanberg on October 29, 1946.
Dan was a US Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. Following his service to country he was a dedicated postal worker and manager, retiring in 2001. Dan enjoyed traveling to all 50 states, some European Countries. He was passionate about taking his annual trips fishing with his special cousin, Marty Knight. Dan always had a humorous response; he had many friends at work as well as childhood friends from his old Bryn Mawr neighborhood in Minneapolis.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Kay, four sons, Ben (Toni), Nick, Rick and Rob (Ann); his sister, Diana (John) Lohmer; six grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 10, 2020 for family and a limited number of guests totaling 30 people at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Duluth. Inurnment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. To view the guest book visit www.nelsonfuneralcare.net
