Marlow Newman Undlin, age 90, died Thursday, January 9, 2020 at The Emeralds in Faribault, MN.
Marlow was born in Madison, MN on June 3, 1929 to parents, Newman and Mabel Undlin. He graduated from Central High School in Minneapolis in June of 1947. Marlow served in the Army during the Korean War, stationed in Tokyo, Japan as a member of the Military Police. Marlow worked for various companies in sales and moved to Duluth to represent Calhoun Realty in that part of Minnesota. Marlow ended his career at Mellim Promotional Advertising in Duluth, MN.
On December 17th, 1955, Marlow married the love of his life, Rose, Stech at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, IA. They had a wonderful life together living in various places, such as Mankato, MN, Des Moines, IA, Wenatchee, WA, and Duluth, MN where they spent over 40 years as part of the community. Marlow was active in the Methodist Church, Toastmasters and Rotary. During their marriage, Marlow and Rose were foster parents to numerous children whom they grew to love. Marlow and Rose enjoyed camping and traveling all around the United States. After retirement from their jobs, Marlow and Rose managed Lakeside Apartments in Duluth, until their final retirement in 2017.
Marlow and Rose relocated to Ecumen Brooks in Owatonna to be closer to their nieces. After Rose’s death in November 2018, Marlow continued to live there until September 2019 when Marlow moved to The Emeralds to receive additional care.
Marlow is survived by his son, Bill Undlin of Glide, OR, grandchildren, Chelsea McGuire and Kasri Long, great grandchildren and his sister Mary (Stan) Haller of Oak Park, MI. Marlow is also survived by many other family members who will miss his presence and his humor.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Rose. Also, his parents and brother, Elton Undlin.
Marlow’s family is very grateful to St. Croix Hospice who provided Marlow with excellent care. Services for both Marlow and Rose will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
