N. Dorothy Bowe

It is with great sadness that the family of Norma Dorothy Bowe, 91, of Duluth Minnesota announces her passing on Monday, January 18, 2021.

Dorothy was born in Council Bluffs, IA to Carl and Hansine Christensen on April 13, 1929. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1947. Over the years she held a number of jobs with Northwestern Bell, AT&T, and Tupperware but her favorite job was being mother to her two boys. She enjoyed cooking, baking, traveling and loved playing games and cards with her family.

An active member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Dorothy was also active in the Deborah Priscilla Circle at Good Shepherd, Lakeside Eastern Star, St. Louis County Historical Society, Lakeshore Home Auxiliary (Ecumen), Telephone Pioneers, and the Red Hat Society. She also volunteered as a driver for Meals on Wheels.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, John James Bowe; son, Todd Christopher Bowe; parents; brother, Carl Christensen; and sister, Esther Stevens.

Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her sons, Randy (Pamela) Bowe and Douglas (Sara) Bowe; grandchildren, Jessica (Michael) Bradley and Jackson Bowe; great-granddaughter, Sofia Bradley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was a devoted wife, loving mother, caring grandmother and proud great grandmother. We will carry her beautiful memory in our hearts forever.

Due to Covid, a private family service was held. She is interred next to her husband at Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.
