Michael “Mike” Wayne Steen

Michael “Mike” Wayne Steen, 54, of Duluth, passed away on Thursday, October 24th, 2019 at his residence in Duluth MN. 

Mike was born in Decatur, IL to Wilfred and Lois Steen on July 2nd, 1965. He graduated from Cerro Gordo High School in Cerro Gordo, IL in 1983.

Mike proudly served in the United States Air Force for over 11 years, serving our country during Desert Storm. He earned his master’s degree in Information Technology from Capella University. He worked as an Infrastructure Architect for Center of Disease Control for 7 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, drag racing, working on cars (especially his 1968 Camaro), his newly found excitement of riding Harleys with his sons, and most importantly spending time with his grandchildren.

Mike was preceded in death by his father, Wilfred Harold Steen; brother, Clark Everett Steen; and grandson, Carson Myles Steen.

Mike is survived by his wife, Karen Steen of Duluth, MN; mother, Lois Steen of Decatur, IL; daughter, Brenda Steen of Decatur, IL; sons, Robert (Crystal) Steen of Decatur, IL and Devan (Ambermarie Suttles) Steen of Hot Springs, AR; grandchildren, Chloe, Anna, Tanner, Audrey, Ayden, Kinsley, baby Steen due Nov. 2019, and Luna-Lynn due Feb. 2020; brothers, Wilfred (Virginia) Jr of Jackson, MI, Jimmy (Sue) Steen of Michigan City, IN, and Ron (Bonnie) Steen of Lake Worth, FL; sister, Becky Steen of Perrysburg, OH; and multiple nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday October 31st, 2019 at 4:30 pm Sunrise Funeral Home, 4798 Miller Trunk Hwy. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Chris Kyle Frog Foundation at ChrisKyleFrogFoundation.org in Mike’s memory.
