Margaret C. Nelson

Margaret Carrie Nelson was born on August 23, 1922 in Proctor, MN to John and Kari Kirkeng. She grew up and attended school in Proctor, graduating in 1940. She married Martin J. Nelson on February 15, 1947 in Proctor. Margaret was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her children: Kari (Ronald) Johnson, Robert (Kathryn) Nelson, Randy (Cherie) Nelson, Kathi Nelson (Jeff Hodorski) and son-in-law Ray Johnson. Margaret had 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren, whom she loved so dearly.

Her husband Martin and daughter Judith preceded her in death.

Margaret passed away on Sunday June 28, 2020 at Essentia Health Medical Center. The family would like to thank River Hill Assisted Living and Essentia Health 3 East for the loving care they gave to Margaret during her time there.

A private service by invitation only will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave, in Duluth.
