Linda was born on October 16, 1963 in Duluth, MN. During childhood, she grew up on a small farm near Twig, MN. She attended Proctor High School and graduated in 1982. She was awarded honor athlete of the year. After graduation, Linda attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth (UMD) where she received her bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. In 1986, Linda married Todd Thiry. Ironically, they met on the dance floor at The College of St. Scholastica (both attended UMD). In 1991, they constructed their current residence, near Twig, MN where they raised two wonderful children, Joseph and Jennifer. They were her pride and joy. Linda’s employment began at the Food & Fuel at the junction of 194 and Highway 53. Upon graduation from UMD, she began her career at Twin Ports Testing where she eventually became the general manager. After spending 11 years with the company, she moved on to work at EMR for a brief period (2 years). In the fall of 1999, Linda opened the door to her own business, Arrowhead Consulting & Testing. She took tremendous pride in her company. Her expertise in industrial hygiene was well regarded by her clients which included medical facilities, mining facilities, refineries, paper and power industries, and countless others. Her devotion to even her smallest clients was admirable. During her career, Linda developed many relationships with numerous clients on a personal level. She considered many of her clients to be lifelong friends. Away from work, Linda was an extraordinary mother and wife. She always made time for her family, and attending her children’s sporting events and activities during their childhood was one of her greatest joys in life. Much of Linda’s free time was spent doing the activities she enjoyed the most. This included cooking and baking, gardening, hiking, and completing puzzles. She was especially fond of flowers and often spent countless hours diligently maintaining her gardens to perfection. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
