Janice Mae (Nephew) Rohweder, of Proctor, died in Phoenix, AZ on April 24th, 2020.  She was 69.  Jan was born on August 11th, 1950 to George and Jean (Michaud) Nephew in Duluth, MN.  She was a graduate of Denfeld High School and later completed a degree in Pastoral Ministries from Saint Mary’s University. Jan married the love of her life, James Rohweder on April 4th, 1970 and was a member of St. Rose church for over 40 years. Jan served as the director of Religious Education at St. Rose Church for many years before becoming a Chaplain at Miller Dwan for 17 years.  Her work as a Chaplain enabled her to be there for so many during times of need.  Although Jan retired, her ministry and devotion to helping others never ended even up to her final days.  Jan spent her time doing the things she loved which included golfing, sewing, fishing, cooking, and most importantly, spending time with her husband and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  One of Jan’s proudest achievements in life was recently reaching her 50th wedding anniversary.

Jan is survived by her husband Jim;  Sisters Sue Korhonen, Beth (Mike) Friedman, brothers Dave (Stacy) Nephew, Tim Nephew, and Dan Nephew; daughter Robyn (Quint Stainbrook), sons Scott (Danelle), and Tim (Kara); ten grandchildren, Evan (Nicole) Vik, Hope (Eric) Butler, Tyler (Kelly) Rohweder, Emily (Jerome) Rohweder, Tyler Lunke, Abby Rohweder, Jake Herold, Dane Herold, Brayden Rohweder, Grace and Emalyn Wells; and four great-grandchildren Isabella, Oaklee, Lakelynn, and Blayke.

A private family service will be held upon Jan’s return to Minnesota.  A celebration of Jan’s life that will be open to all will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family would ask that donations be made on Jan’s behalf to the Miller Dwan Foundation.
