James Henry Foldesi

James Henry Foldesi, 80, of Duluth went to be with the Lord Monday, December 14, 2020 surrounded by family at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN after many years of surviving with COPD. Jim was born in Superior, WI on February 3, 1940. He graduated from Denfeld High School in 1958 and had many great memories playing football, basketball and running track. Jim married his wife, Gladys Needham, on December 8, 1962 and had two children. They recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. He was employed with the MN Department of Transportation for 39 years and worked on hundreds of projects large and small. Jim loved working on Scenic Highway 61, and it is rumored he may have carried a fly rod in his state truck. He will be remembered for his hard work, sense of humor, never ending list of jokes, selflessness, dedication to his family and most of all his great love for his grandchildren.

Jim was preceded in death by grandson Michael Foldesi, brothers Tom Foldesi, Frank Foldesi, Loren Anderson, Barry Anderson, and sister Rose Golfis. Survivors include wife, Gladys; son, Jim (Cheryl); daughter, Sarah (Joe) Zastrow; grandchildren J.D. (Jen), Mark (fiancé Carly), Paul, Peter, Anna, William, Daniel, and Margaret; sister-in-law, Carol Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian burial at St. James Catholic Church, 715 N. 57th Ave. W., at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 18, 2020 with visitation one hour prior. Interment immediately following at Oneota Cemetery.
