Harold Fournier

Fournier, Harold (Harry) age 70 of Minneapolis, died peacefully on January 4, 2021, at Hennepin County Medical Center 

Harry was born in Duluth, MN on March 11, 1950 to Vernon & Liz Fournier. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survived by wife of 46 years, Connie; son Jeremy Erickson; sisters Renee Miller (John), Doris Pezzotti (Jeff); brother Phil Fournier (Cherie) and uncle Rick Fournier (Katie) and aunt Annemie Spanner of Germany. He will be dearly missed by nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and neighbors.

He graduated from Hermantown High school in 1968, received a liberal arts degree from the U of M, returned to study architecture. He began his building career at Placemakers & started his own St. Croix Falls Building Company. He renovated an historic home in Minneapolis where he lived for 43 years. In 1989 he joined Kraus Anderson as carpenter, advancing to superintendent until he retired in 2006.

Harry summited Mt. Hood with brother Phil. He completed two Duluth roller blade marathons. His passion was for books, French, chess, golf and walks with his dog Mercedes.

Harry was a kind, intelligent soul. He enjoyed cooking, embraced his French-Canadian heritage and practiced piano on his grandmother’s upright.

Harry’s last request: “Choose a fresh and sparkling day and spread my ashes along the banks of a North Shore stream. I will be home and at rest.” Gatherings of family and friends will be planned when done safely and the weather is beautiful.
