Ethel Jane King Stoltz

Mom, Grandma, Auntie passed away peacefully at InterFaith Care Center in Carlton, MN, on April 16, 2020, just ten days before her 94th birthday.

Born April 26, 1926, in Hubbard, MN, she spent most of her life in and around Duluth and Hill City, MN, graduating from Lakewood High School as Valedictorian and marrying her high school sweetheart, Gerald King at the end of WW II. They raised five children together.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years and her first born son, David in 1977. She then moved to the West Coast where she met and married a fellow widower, Bill Stoltz. They had 13 years together before his demise.

Ethel was active in her children’s education, serving on the school board for many years. She was a devoted Catholic and spent many years working for the church.

When her children where grown and on their own she decided to attend college, a lifelong dream. She always loved learning.

Ethel is survived by four children, Susan (Magnuson), Danny, Gerald, and Robert King; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; along with many cherished nieces and nephews.

Ethel will be greatly missed by family and friends. A private family memorial service is planned later in the year.
