Elvera Victoria (Rosquist) Thomas

Elvera Victoria (Rosquist) Thomas, 96, of Duluth, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2020. She was born in Duluth on October 11, 1923 to Emil and Rose (Sarlund) Rosquist. A longtime member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity having served on the Council, nursery, Sunday School, and over 58 years on the Altar Circle. A member of the Trinity Chapter Order of Eastern Star, White Shrine and lifetime member of the West Duluth American Legion. She retired as a Secretary of the Teacher’s Resource Center of ISD 709. Elvera was preceded in death by her husband, Wally; a son, Terry; a sister, Eva Maher. She is survived by her sons, Brian and Jamie (Lisa); daughter-in-law, Andi; grandsons, Shane (Amy), Deems, and Bradley; great-grandchildren, Julie (Jamie) Borgeson, Jodi Lauderville, Joseph, Leilani and Tara (Heikki) Saukko; beloved great-great-grandchildren, Sean, Anthony, Alexis, Elijah, Aiden, Ethan, Dominick, Noah, Gracelyn, Ella Lynn and Lucas; extended family; nieces, Jackie Reichert and Patty Blakey and nephew, Mike Maher and their families; the Frondens, Jim ( Sandy), Jeff (Karen) and Jon; Don and Marilyn Szymczak, Tom and Eleanor Porter and Sandy Kendall; special family, Scott and Annette Felder; special friend and gin partner, Carolyn Dahl; special friend and hairdresser, Shirley Simmonds and little brother, Harold Eck. There are not enough words to express the family’s gratitude for the care Elvera received at Keystone Bluffs and St. Luke’s Hospice. At this time there will be no traditional funeral services.
