Edward William Davidson, age 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Barnes Memory Care & Assisted Living in Esko. He was born to Joseph and Helia (Oja) Davidson on June 16th, 1927, in Thomson Township where he resided for most of his life. As a young boy he hunted and fished the land and as an adult became a true outdoorsman. He proudly served his country in Germany immediately following WW II. Upon returning to the States, a lovely brunette from Cloquet, Jackie, caught his bright blue eyes. They married on April 1, 1950. After attending barber school, Ed cut hair in Duluth for 52 years owning Eddy’s Barber Shop on 40th and Grand.
Edward is preceded in death by his parents; his wife; newborn daughter Debbie; great-grandson Jackson Pfister; and his six siblings, Ervin, Marvin, Duane, Mildred Strom, Mabel Cardinal, and Evelyn Hawkinson. Surviving are his four sons, Richard (Nona), Russell (Lynn), John (Catherine), and Joe (Angie); twelve grandchildren, Ryan, Renee Lawrey, Rebecca Hanson, Alison Kolar, Robyn Panger, Brooke Pfister, Amy Pfister, Sarah Leggett, John, Emily, Darin, and Reid; and fifteen great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the remarkable staff at Barnes Care and St. Croix Hospice.
Visitation: 3 pm to 4 pm on Saturday, May 8th in Nelson Funeral Care, 1004 Cloquet Ave. Cloquet, the Memorial Service to follow.
