Eda A. Dahl

Eda A. Dahl, 96 of Duluth died peacefully Sunday June 14th at Solvay Hospice House. Eda was born Oct. 4, 1923 in Gradisca, Italy to Peter and Louise (Rossi) Macor. They traveled to the United States on September 21, 1926 on the ship “The Providence.” Eda was a 1941 Denfeld graduate and earned a bachelor’s degree in Education from UMD in 1962. Eda retired in 1979 as a celebrated teacher for the Morgan Park and Ensign Elementary schools. She was a proud member of the Italian American Club Auxiliary, Alpha Kappa Delta Sorority, VFW Auxiliary, and Oddfellow-Rebeka Lodge. Eda was married to Donald Jens Dahl on August 21, 1943 in Bremerton, WA. There Eda worked as a typist at the Puget Sound Navy yard and Don served in the US Navy on the U.S.S California. Some of Eda’s hobbies were traveling, photography, videography, and being with her family. She especially loved her trips back to Italy to visit relatives. She was an avid writer and loved documenting her family history and gifting it to the rest of the family. Eda was always the life of the party with her fun-loving spirit; she giggled and smiled her way through life
She was preceded in death by Louise Macor (mother), Peter Macor (father), Louis Ado Macor (brother), Mary Macor Vanderscheuren (sister), Rita Macor Widell (sister), Susan Running (daughter), Jonny Dahl (grandson).
Eda is survived by her sons, Peter (Sue) Dahl, Jon (Karen) Dahl, and Kristine (Greg) Kaake, 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grand-children and countless nieces and nephews.
