Donald R. “Slugger” Himango

Donald R. “Slugger” Himango, age 92 of Esko, MN died on Tuesday, December 8th, 2020 at Inter-Faith Care Center in Carlton. He was born on September 12th, 1928 to Theodore and Liinu (Koivusipila) Himango in Thomson Township. Slugger was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War. He returned home and went to work at Arrowhead Creamer-Franklin Foods retiring in 1985. Slugger married Dorothy Maynarich on March 9th, 1963 and they made their home in Esko. He was a member of the Teamster Union #358, Eagles, and a life member of the VFW. Slugger enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends.

Slugger was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy; and his eight siblings. He is survived by his niece, Sandy (Andy) Anderson and numerous other nieces and nephews.
