Charles D. Lindquist

Charles D. Lindquist, age 83, of Cloquet, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. He was born May 24, 1936 in Cloquet to Erick and Jenny (Johnson) Lindquist. Charlie served in the U.S. Navy from 1954-1958. He was united in marriage to Joyce Peil on October 25, 1963. Charlie worked for the former Wood Conversion and Conwed Corp. and retired from USG in May of 1998.
Charlie loved golfing at Big Lake Golf Club and numerous golf courses across MN and WI. He enjoyed the fishing opener with his buddies and family outings at his cabin on Little Grand Lake and numerous resorts throughout MN. Charlie also enjoyed a good Drum and Bugle Corp and polka dancing with his wife Joyce.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; two infant brothers; brothers, William, Alden and Richard Lindquist; sisters, Helen (Perry) Roen, Mary (Rodney) Peterson, and Mardella Lindquist. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; children Russ Peil, Rick Peil, Jerry Lindquist, and Shelley (Tom Lindenfelser) Lindquist; sister-in-laws, Ardythe Lindquist and Carol Lindquist; 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
