Bruce Martin Finley

Bruce Martin Finley (age 67) of Aurora passed away December 7th at Saint Mary’s hospital in Duluth, MN due to complications from COVID. Bruce was born on November 27, 1953 to “Hap” and Mary Finley in a 1953 Buick on the way to the hospital in Ely, MN. Bruce grew up in Isabella, MN and attended schools in the Silver Bay area graduating from WM Kelly High School in 1972. Bruce married Carol Ingalls on July 15, 1978. Together they raised 2 sons Robert and Jeff. After high school Bruce went to work for Erie Mining Co. and moved to Aurora where he completed the company welding apprenticeship. He worked there as a welder until LTV closed the plant in 2001. After the plant closed he joined the millwright local 1348 and worked at several mines and paper mills in the area for various contractors, retiring in 2015. In his spare time and in retirement Bruce enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing. Fishing was his passion he would spend hours on his secret lake in the summer and winter and caught several trophy walleyes. In fact the only ones not sad about his passing are the remaining walleyes in that lake. Bruce was proceeded in death by his parents “Hap” and Mary Finley, Nephew Curtiss, and Niece Becky. Survived by his wife Carol (for a few hours before she joined him in heaven and into the arms or our lord), sons Robert and Jeff (Sarah) and the apple of his eye granddaughter Ellianna. Brother Jerry (Pam) and Sisters Deanie Kuehl, Joyce (Wally) Kuehl, Dottie (Jim) Perrault, Terri (Dale) Rank, Cindy (Mike) Brown, Patti Wescott and many nieces and nephews. There will be a celebration of life in the summer of 2021. Arrangements are with the Landmark Funeral Home in Virginia.
