Lois P. "Patsy" Newman (Oftedahl)

Lois Newman, 78, of Duluth passed away peacefully with her husband, son, and pastor at her side on Friday, January 26th, 2018 at Aftenro Home. A Celebration of her Life will be held on Saturday, June 9th at 2:00pm at Hope United Methodist Church in Duluth.

Lois was born in Montclair, NJ, to Oscar and Helga Oftedahl. She graduated from Northwestern School of Nursing in Minneapolis in 1960, and was employed by St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth for many years. It was at St. Luke's that she would meet her future husband, meet her best friend, and give birth to her son.

She was an active member of Hope United Methodist Church, a huge fan of the Twins (and baseball in general), a loving wife and mother, and above all else, someone who possessed an infectious laugh and a keen sense of humor.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff Newman of Duluth, and her son, Ray Newman of Renton, WA.

Thank you to the staff of Aftenro Home for Lois' exceptional care. Thanks, also, to Pastor Laurie and the entire church family at Hope. Finally, thanks to Judith Oman for being a tried and true Best Friend to Lois.
