David Charles Larson

David Charles Larson, 83, of Proctor, MN passed away on July 20th, 2017 at Solvay Hospice House surrounded by loved ones.

Dave was born Nov. 25, 1933 to Ole H and Anna Mary Larson in Tintah MN. He graduated from Proctor High School, class of 1951. After high school Dave spent time working for the DM&IR railroad, Twin Ports Linoleum, and KDAL Radio and TV station. In 1958 he started Larson Construction where he shared his many talents with his son and nephews. Dave loved having a good time with friends and family, was an active member of the Lions and Moose Clubs and served on the Proctor City Counsel. Dave also enjoyed gardening (especially growing beautiful roses), traveling, a good bet, and spending time reading.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings Victor, Clarence, George, Helen, Louise, Olivia, Mary and Phyllis; his first wife Emilie Ann Helquist and his second wife Betty Sue Howard, and brother-in-law John Howard. He is survived by his children Denise (Dee Dee) Burke (Paul) of Proctor, son David Guy Larson (Barb) Hoyt Lakes, Julie Ann Jezerski and Kristine Sternal (Mark) of Duluth, sisters-in-law Estella Larson and Joanne Howard, and brothers-in-law Paul (Christie) Helquist and Frank (Debra) Helquist. Grandchildren Eric (Melissa) Smith, Tanya Smith, Christopher Malec, Beth Malec, Leah Christenson, Jessica McLoyd (Adrian), Cassandra and Olivia Larson, step-grandchildren Kelsey and Kaitlyn Burke, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank Essentia Hospice and the Solvay House for their compassion and care for Dave.

A memorial service celebrating Dave's life will be held at 3 pm on Monday July 24, 2017 at The Cremation Society of Minnesota 4100 Grand Ave Duluth, MN 55807, with a visitation one hour prior.
