Soul food dinner at UWS will include keynote by author
The University of Wisconsin-Superior's Soul Food Dinner and Program will include a full menu in addition to keynote speaker Mary Canty Merrill and a performance by Girl Power, students from Denfeld High School.
The annual event is at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at UWS's Yellowjacket Union Great Room. Tickets are $7 for faculty, staff and community members. The first 100 UWS students may attend free. Tickets are available at www.uwssoulfood2019.eventbrite.com.
The menu includes: red beans and rice, collard greens, fried chicken, baked chicken, baked macaroni and cheese, corn bread, banana pudding and sweet tea.
Merrill is the author of "Why Black Lives Matter (Too)."
