Lake effect snow to hit North Shore
Parts of the North Shore could receive up to 6 inches of snow overnight Friday into Saturday morning.
The National Weather Service in Duluth issued a weather advisory through 4 a.m. Saturday along the Cook County shoreline and through 10 a.m. Saturday along the Lake County shoreline. Southern Lake County is expected to get the most snow, ranging from 4 to 6 inches. Grand Marais and the Twin Ports are expected to get 2 to 3 inches.
According to the NWS, light snow, flurries and patchy freezing drizzle will also be possible in northern Minnesota north of Highway 2. Snow will diminish from north to south late Friday night into Saturday afternoon.
Lows are expected to be in the mid-teens with wind gusts up to 20 mph.
