Primrose Retirement Community, based in Aberdeen, South Dakota, announced Thursday it is transitioning operations of eight retirement communities, including its Duluth location. Washington-based Sinceri Senior Living will assume operations of the retirement home starting Dec. 1.
In a news release, Primrose said a 15-year lease agreement with real estate investment trust Ventas, Inc. has expired and will not be renewed. The Duluth location offers independent and assisted living.
“We are certainly disappointed that we could not come to an agreement regarding continued operation of these communities, but we look forward to a smooth transition of operations with a focus on the continued quality care of the residents and support of the employees," Primrose President B.J. Schaefbauer said in the statement.
Sinceri Senior Living operates more than 40 retirement communities across 18 states, including two Alzheimer's Special Care Centers in the Twin Cities metro area.
