St. Louis County is receiving a special allocation of COVID-19 relief money from the U.S. Department of Housing and is seeking public input on how to prioritize its use.

The allocation includes $1.6 million through the Community Development Block Grant program and nearly $579,000 through the Emergency Solutions Grant program, according to a news release from the county. The approved relief dollars are part of the CARES Act Congress passed to provide assistance in preventing, preparing for and responding to the pandemic.

To collect community input on local needs as it relates to COVID-19, the county has developed an online survey, which can be found at stlouiscountymn.gov/departments-a-z/planning-development/community-development.

The public's responses will guide the county's citizen advisory committee as it reviews project applications and makes recommendations on the award, the news release read.

The deadline to complete the survey is May 22.
