One new death in St. Louis County; 2 new cases in Carlton County

The Minnesota Department of Health reported another COVID-19-related death in St. Louis County on Saturday.

The individual was in their 80s and living in a long-term care facility, according to the Health Department. The total number of deaths in St. Louis County is now eight.

Another case of COVID-19 was confirmed in St. Louis County as well, bringing the total number of cases confirmed through lab-based testing to 46.

Two more cases were confirmed in Carlton County, bringing the total to 34.

Itasca County still has two total cases; its most recent confirmed case was reported April 1. Cook and Lake counties have no confirmed cases.

Statewide, 2,213 people have tested positive for COVID-19 and 1,118 of them no longer need to be isolated. On Saturday, 239 people were hospitalized and 111 of them were in an intensive care unit.

The Health Department reported 10 more deaths in Minnesota, bringing the total to 121. All but one of the new deaths involved residents of long-term care facilities.
