One new death confirmed in St. Louis County

One new death related to COVID-19 was confirmed in St. Louis County on Sunday, bringing the total number of deaths to five, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.

An additional case of the virus was also confirmed in the county, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 38.

Six more cases have been reported in Carlton County, bringing the total to 25. Itasca County has two total cases; its most recent confirmed case was reported April 1. Cook and Lake counties have no confirmed cases.

Statewide, 1,621 people have tested positive out of the 37,421 tests completed as of 4 p.m. Saturday, and 842 people no longer need to be isolated. On Saturday, 157 people were hospitalized, of which 74 were in an intensive care unit.

The Health Department reported six more deaths in Minnesota, bringing the total to 70.
