Itasca County resident dies of COVID-19; 150 people in Northland test positive for virus

It was the Northland's smallest new-case count since Nov. 1

Another Itasca County resident has died from COVID-19 and another 150 people have contracted the virus throughout the Northland.

The person who died was between 85 and 89 years old and is Itasca County's 32nd death from COVID-19, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.

No other Northland counties reported new deaths Monday. Statewide, Minnesota reported 22 new deaths and Wisconsin reported another eight deaths.

St. Louis County reported 78 more people have tested positive for COVID-19. In the last seven days, the county has had an average of 91 new cases per day.

The 10 counties the News Tribune counts in its Northland figure totaled 150 cases, the lowest daily total since Nov. 1 saw 135 cases. It had reached as high as 585 daily cases on Nov. 19.
