Eight more Northland residents have died from COVID-19 as of Saturday, Nov. 21.
Four of them lived in St. Louis County, bringing its total number of deaths from the illness to 94. The residents were between the ages of 55 and 59, 70 and 74, 80 and 84 as well as 85 and 89, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.
Two more Aitkin County residents died, putting its total at 21. The people were between the ages of 70 and 74 and 90 and 94.
Carlton County recorded its 10th death. The person was between the ages of 90 and 94.
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported an seventh death in Bayfield County.

As of Saturday, the 10-county region of the Northland has recorded more than 170 deaths since the pandemic began. Wisconsin and Minnesota each reported a total of 51 new deaths on Saturday.
Another 363 Northland residents were reported to have recently tested positive.
Lake County, which saw a steep increase in cases in the last week, was the only county to break its daily case count record. Twenty-two more residents have tested positive — two more than its previous record.
Over the last seven days the county has averaged about 15 new cases a day.
Wisconsin's Douglas County recorded 81 more people who have tested positive — two people shy of its Friday record. The county has logged an average of 51 new cases a day.
