Gov. Tim Walz announced that rapid COVID-19 tests are coming to Duluth and Hibbing, among several other locations around the state.

The testing site at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center will expand to begin offering the rapid tests on Friday, while the Minnesota National Guard will support a new rapid testing site in Hibbing next week. The location of that site has yet to be announced.

“Minnesotans are working hard to navigate day care, school, and work — and they need the reassurance and ease of rapid testing to keep their lives on track,” Walz said in a statement.

The DECC testing site expanded its hours last week to 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and expanded its testing capacity in an state-led effort to tackle the delta variant.
