St. Louis County has reached the milestone of 100,000 fully vaccinated residents.

According to data reported by the Minnesota Department of Health and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services on Friday, 452 more people in the Northland received a first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 638 people became fully vaccinated. Now, 54% of Northlanders have received at least one dose of vaccine and 49% are fully vaccinated.

Percentage of people with at least one vaccine dose in each county:

  • Aitkin — 49%.
  • Carlton — 57%.
  • Cook — 72%.
  • Itasca — 45%.
  • Koochiching — 45%.
  • Lake — 56%.
  • St. Louis — 55%.
  • Ashland — 53%.
  • Bayfield — 61%.
  • Douglas — 51%.

The Northland's 10 counties reported 22 new positive cases Friday. There was a COVID-19-related death reported in Bayfield County, bringing the county's COVID-19 death toll to 20. Minnesota reported 257 new cases of coronavirus and eight COVID-19-related deaths statewide Friday and Wisconsin reported 200 cases and 29 deaths.
