One new COVID-19 death was reported in the Northland on Sunday, and 40 new cases were confirmed across Northern Minnesota's seven counties.
A Carlton County resident between the ages of 60 and 64 died from COVID-19, the state reported Sunday. It's the county's 44th COVID-19 death
In Minnesota, there were nine deaths and 891 new cases reported Sunday.
In Wisconsin, there were 403 new cases and no new deaths reported.
Minnesota has now administered 1,097,679 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. In the Northland, 4,240 vaccines were administered Feb. 19 — the most recent day of data available. More than 3/4 of those vaccines were second doses. In all, 63,787 Northern Minnesotans have received at least one shot of the vaccine, while 27,876 have completed the two-dose series.
In Ashland, Bayfield and Douglas counties, 10,583 people have received at least one shot while 3360 have received both doses.

Vaccine efforts may continue to face delays as shipments are delayed due to inclement weather across the country. Statewide, 13.4% of Minnesotans have received at least one dose of the vaccine and 13.9% of Wisconsinites have received at least one dose. while 18.6% of Northlanders have at least one shot.
