Three more Northland residents have died from COVID-19.

Two were residents of Bayfield County and one was a resident of Aitkin County.

The Aitkin County resident was between ages 85 and 89, according to the Minnesota Department of Health, bringing the county's death toll to 24.

Nine people have now died in Bayfield County and six of those deaths have been recorded in November, as reported by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services.

A total of 415 more Northland residents have tested positive.

Wisconsin's Ashland County and Minnesota's Koochiching County were the only counties in the 10-county region to break its daily record of new cases.

Ashland County recorded 26 new cases, four more than is previous record on Nov 6. and Koochiching County recorded 18 more people who have tested positive, two more than its previous record set a week ago. In the last seven days the counties have recorded an average of about 13 and 9 new cases a day, respectively.

Carlton County recorded 75 more people who have tested positive, just one person shy of its daily record set Nov. 22. The county's seven-day average is 55 new cases a day.

  • Itasca — 14; 36.
  • Aitkin — 12; 22.
  • Lake — 8; 16.
  • Cook — 2; 2.
  • Bayfield — 5; 9.
  • Douglas — 34; 60.

Wisconsin reported 104 new deaths from COVID-19 on Tuesday. That is the highest number of deaths reported in a single day. The state also reported that 6,202 more people have tested positive.

Meanwhile, Minnesota reported 38 deaths and 6,423 new cases Tuesday.
