Two more Northland residents have died from COVID-19 as of Monday, Nov. 23.

One lived in Itasca County and the other was from Lake County. They were between ages 60 and 64 and 80-84, respectively, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.

Minnesota reported 24 deaths statewide Monday and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported six deaths.

As of Monday, the 10-county region of the Northland has recorded more than 170 deaths since the pandemic began.

Another 477 Northland residents recently tested positive.

Aitkin County reported a single-day high of 41 new cases. The previous single-day high was 39 on Nov. 14. The seven-day average for Aitkin County is 22.

St. Louis County reported 271 news cases Monday with a seven-day average of 236.

  • Koochiching — 6; 9.
  • Lake — 12; 17.

Wisconsin:

  • Douglas — 50; 62.
  • Bayfield — 5; 11.
  • Ashland — 7; 10.

Minnesota completed 57,015 more tests statewide as of Monday and 6,353 more positive cases. Wisconsin completed 12,291 more tests and reported 3,095 new COVID-19 cases.
