The Minnesota Department of Health reported eight new cases of COVID-19 in St. Louis County on Saturday.

That brings the total number of new cases to 50 this week, meaning nearly a quarter of all lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases from the last few months were recorded in the last seven days.

Koochiching County recorded four more cases, the most that county has tallied in a single day. Two more cases were recorded in Itasca County for a total of seven new cases this week. One new case was reported in Carlton County for a total count of five new cases since Sunday.

The state also reported that four Minnesotans have died. None of those people were residents of the Northland.

For the third day in a row and the fourth day this week, Wisconsin has set a record high of new cases reported in single day. On Saturday, the state reported 926 new cases, passing the 900 mark for the first time.

The state did not report any new deaths.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported six more cases in Douglas County, bringing the total to 17 new cases this week.

For the second day in a row, two more cases were recorded in Ashland County and one more case was recorded in Bayfield County.
